The Catalan Autonomous Government (Generalitat de Catalunya) creates TALÈNCIA to manage the overall Catalan research policy
TALÈNCIA will merge IFCR, AGAUR and ICREA in a unique agency
The Catalan Government announced last 1st of March the creation of TALÈNCIA, a governmental agency that will merge the up to now competencies in research of FCRI, AGAUR and ICREA. TALÈNCIA will centralise the Catalan research policy and will manage a budget in excess of 70 million euros in 2010 (with an initial staff of 72).
This decision is one of the first steps in the implementation of the Pacte Nacional per a la Recerca i la Innovació, an agreement whose main goal is to set a long-term strategy of research and innovation for Catalonia.
